WEEE Recycling Market There are many, many companies working in WEEE today who have no equipment whatsoever. They introduce a catchy name or phrase to the market and often they are little more than a lock up or even a work at home email site who simply collect your waste and with a bombardment of word documents and collection paperwork they can often be a low budget broker who simply pass on your waste and charge you for doing so. The problem is that many of the items contained in the WEEE directive such as CRT’s, batteries and lamps are hazardous and as such require paperwork for their movement and transportation. Many of the middlemen that meddle with this have not got one source guaranteed for the disposal and they vary the end destination. For you this is a great worry as it is YOUR responsibility where your waste ends up rather than whom you gave it to. There are also cases which we have on record where large multi national companies operating in the WEEE market claim to recycle nearly half a million CRT’s a year. Yet when we visited them they had absolutely no equipment to do so and when asked simply said, “It is something we hope to go into later...” Our WEEE plant is as simple as the name suggests. However it is an enormous piece of engineering and unlike any other here in the UK for processing electrical and electronic equipment waste. Our plant is exclusive to our company and we have European exclusivity on the system which we have developed with a team of leading American engineers and WEEE waste specialists. The plant can process up to 20 tonnes of WEEE per hour and accepts the largest B2B waste that you will find in any of your offices from a fax to a printer to a photocopier to main frame computer. Our system simply eats it up and provides a fully saleable revenue stream from all of the bi products of your waste. Our CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) plant is simply space age in comparison to the others we have seen on offer in the UK. With many companies offering CRT recycling there seems a variance in what is on offer. On the one hand you have companies who claim to recycle your TV’s and Computer monitors who do little more than break off the front of the monitor and remove the CRT and send it abroad. Then on the other hand you have companies who take approximately 15 minutes for a manual procedure to remove the casing and then proceed to recycle the CRT on a very slow procedure using laser, disc or hot weld applications where we found a maximum speed being maintained of around 35 CRT’s per hour. Get ready for this! Our system, the only one of its kind in the UK and Europe, requires that we simply snip off the plug and cable (to avoid snagging in the plant) and then the entire TV or computer monitor is disposed of into the state-of-the-art plant where we recycle up to 800, yes eight hundred every hour! Incredible? You bet it is! If you think about it. We remove the need to employ two hundred staff to process the outer casings to feed the 800 CRT’s every hour into our plant as the equipment safely processes all of this product in one pass. The air that is produced by our filtering system is actually cleaner than the normal air in and around the plant before it is processed. Therefore the system is cleaner for operators and safer for the environment. We have invested in a superb copper processing facility which processes all copper bearing products which are mainly copper based cables and it recycles them into pure copper, ferrous and plastics. The plant is a European Design and is operated on an exclusive license by our company and provides a range of containers for use in your work place for the collation of such waste which are then fully recycled and none of the bi products are sent to landfill. With much of the bi products of B2B WEEE waste producing copper and most electrical products utilising a plug and cable we felt that in order to increase our recycling facilities and efficiency such investment made sound sense to our portfolio. For many years we have been recognised as the market leader in the national lamp recycling market where we cover every UK area and can recycle every single kind of lamp to a higher standard than the rest of the market place. We have four different pieces of equipment for each of the four different categories of lamps. More details and service options can be found either at www.lampcare.com or by calling our national customer support centre on (01388) 721000. Our company concentrate on recycling all of the waste that you will find in a typical company and which is generally classed as B2B (business to business) Waste. If you have any specific needs which don’t appear to be covered then simply call our staff and we will see if it is something we can do and if we don’t we might be able to put you in touch with someone who can help. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
